A taped black-and-white xerox card: a rainy night bus stop smeared with photocopier grain, OUTRO in heavy white capitals, and beneath it: and thanks for all the fish.

Upon returning home I find a neat note on my doorstep.
It says:

A cream note lying on dark floorboards, handwritten in marker: WELL DONE, with a small heart — signed The Editors, with a tiny stick-figure sigil. A smooth black pebble rests on the note's corner.

It’s in my handwriting.

There’s a black, smooth pebble next to it. Payment for services rendered.

I guess this is it. Issue #1 done.

Not sure how I feel about it. Perhaps that’s not the point. I wrote some stuff down. Didn’t write down some other stuff.

Those two wizards, the Tall One and the Shortie, who are planning a strange heist in the face of the Apocalypse.

Stray AI modules who just want to play Tetris all day long, and not be bothered with generating softcore porn for horny boys.

Perhaps in the next issue I should visit the Tarots. Archetypes of cosmic energies living among us. Although, truth be told, that whole family is slightly insane and makes me uneasy.

Except Herm the Hobo, he’s a sweetie.

I shudder at the thought of talking to Sister Death and her little brother Tower.

Then again, someone has to do it.

Thanks for sticking with us so far.
